Automated Demand Response is one of many Smart Grid technologies aimed at increasing the ability of the Utility companies to deliver energy more reliably while simultaneously enabling easier interconnection of small distributed generation producers such as wind, solar, bio and co-generation plants. ADR or AutoDR, is a bi-direction Internet based communication system using OpenADR (Open Automated Demand Response) protocol to connect the Utility directly to its customers.
